Creating Safe Spaces

Asquith Church of Christ is committed to ensuring that our premises and the people that attend our church is a safe place, which is God honouring, person valuing and free from harm and abuse.

It is with this in mind that Asquith Church of Christ has a “Safe Church Policy Document” together with Creating Safe Spaces training.

Creating Safe Spaces training seeks to ensure that all church leaders and anyone associated with children and older adults, undertake the training, which at present is conducted every three years through Churches of Christ Head Office. The training includes a focus on child protection, but seeks to protect all vulnerable people, including fulfilling our duty of care under the Work Health and Safety Legislation to provide a safe physical environment.

Our Creating Safe Spaces workshop is three hours in length, with an additional half hour compliance consultation for senior church leadership.  All attendees must also complete the Creating safe Spaces online module before attending the face to face workshop.
