Senior Minister, Asquith Church of Christ,  NSW

Asquith Church of Christ is situated on the Upper North Shore in Sydney. We are a small, welcoming church in an area rapidly changing, due to the many high-rise apartments being built. We have a fulltime Youth and Young Adults Pastor who reports to the Senior Minister. Our current Senior Minister of many years is retiring at the end of May 2027. We are seeking to engage another full-time Senior Minister to hold the pastoral, teaching, and leadership oversight of the church. A Minister who will be actively engaged in the activities of the church and to care for the spiritual well-being of a faithful group of disciples of Christ who endeavour to live out their Vision Statement; “Motivated by God’s love, our desire is that others come to know Christ and together we’ll be equipped to serve” and our Mission Statement: “Love Jesus Christ, Love One another, Serve our World”.

We seek to grow our fellowship as people within our community are drawn to the love Jesus has for them, by the demonstration of our care and concern for them physically and spiritually. We expect the Senior Minister to take an active ministerial oversight of the church’s activities. The Senior Minister is appointed by the church on the recommendation of the Elders, in collaboration with the search committee and, is accountable to and reports regularly to the elders, with a review undertaken annually. the Senior Minister role is to be a full-time, five year contract. Opportunity to apply for continuation of the senior ministry position is ordinarily given before the end of the contract.
